WESTMINSTER, Colo. - Drivers who use, or drive through, the U.S. 36 & Sheridan Boulevard interchange need to know about two major closures in the next week.
-- Sheridan closed Friday 8 p.m. to Monday at 5:30 a.m.
Crews will close northbound and southbound Sheridan Boulevard at the bridge over U.S. 36 Friday at 8 p.m.
The road will remain closed through 5:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20.
During that time, crews will move traffic onto the new portion of the Sheridan Boulevard bridge.
During the closure of Sheridan Boulevard, motorists will be detoured to 92nd Avenue and West 88th Avenue.
All of the on- and off-ramps on eastbound and westbound U.S. 36 to Sheridan Boulevard will be open, but there will be no through traffic over the bridge.
-- U.S. 36 closed overnight at Sheridan Monday to Friday
After traffic is moved to the new bridge this weekend, crews will demolish the old Sheridan bridge.
That work will close U.S. 36 at Sheridan Blvd. Monday through Thursday, Jan. 20-23, from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
The highway will also be closed Friday night (Jan. 23) into Saturday from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.
During the demolition, traffic will use the U.S. 36 on- and off-ramps at Sheridan Boulevard as the detour.
After the existing bridge is demolished, crews will begin building the remaining portion of the Sheridan Boulevard bridge.
The final Sheridan Boulevard bridge will have an additional northbound lane and double left turn lanes in each direction. It will be open in final configuration in the fall.
