Sex offender on Texas' 'Most Wanted' list captured at Denver homeless shelter

DENVER - A convicted felon on the 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list in Texas has been captured in Colorado.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said David Martinez Maldonado, of San Antonio, was arrested at a homeless shelter in Denver.

Investigators said Maldonado was wanted for failing to register as a high-risk convicted sex offender. He was caught thanks to a tip. The warrant for his arrest was issued in 2011.

Records show Martinez Maldonado's criminal history includes assault, sex assault, family violence, burglary, larceny and providing false information to law enforcement officials.
