DENVER – Denver Police are looking for a so-called serial “porch pirate” who was recently caught on camera.

The man hit a home in the 2500 block of South Xavier Street on Oct. 25. Police say the man walked up to the house and took off with a delivered package.

The man left the scene in a white or gray sedan. Police say the man caught on camera in the Xavier theft has been identified in other package thefts across the Denver metro area.

A similar-looking man was seen on camera stealing mail from a home in Westminster. However, police have not confirmed if the cases are connected.

“Porch pirates” often follow UPS, FedEx and other mail delivery vehicles to swoop in and take the packages left for homeowners. There are a handful of apps and other things that can help stem mail theft, though some of them cost more than $40.

If you have information on this case, call the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. You can remain anonymous and earn up to $2,000.
