On Friday, the Cassini spacecraft ended its 20-year mission to Saturn by deliberately crashing into the planet’s surface. Here are some photos the probe took over the years.
The Cassini spacecraft has officially ended its 20-year-long trip to Saturn.
The probe transmitted its final signal and deliberately dove into the planet Friday morning, burning up in Saturn's atmosphere.
Cassini launched in 1997 and reached Saturn’s system in 2004. Since then, the probe has been exploring the planet and its moons, taking photos and collecting other data along the way.
