Deputies have identified a second man wanted for a robbery in Jefferson County.

The sheriff's office believes David Ernest Mascarenas, 54, was involved in therobbery on South Taft Court on Sunday morning.

Investigators say Mascarenas and David Maxmillian Martinez, 38, tied up a homeowner before trying to get away in that homeowner's car. The suspects originally went to the house posing as potential buyers for a car listed on Craiglist, according to the sheriff's office.

The victim broke free and shot at both suspects, killing Martinez.

Homeowner who was tied up, robbed may face charges for shooting

Surveillance pictures show Mascarenas using credit cards he stole from the home on Taft, police say.

Investigators also shared a mug shot from a previous arrest.

Police said Mascarenas left the robbery in a gold Mustang. Detectives found that vehicle in Federal Heights on Monday.

Anyone with information should call police.
