Second suspect accused of leaving tacks strewn on a popular bike route identified

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has issued a summons for the second man accused of leaving tacks strewn along a popular bike route.

Investigators identified him as Tyler Chambers, 27.

They say he is the cousin of the other suspect, Calvin Chambers, 27. Deputies issued a summons for Calvin Chambers last week.

Both have been charged with criminal mischief and reckless endangerment, which are both misdemeanor charges.

At least eight cyclists had their tires flattened by the tacks in early July on Deer Creek Canyon Road near South Valley Parkway.

Investigators told Denver7 the suspects were identified after one of them was seen on surveillance video purchasing thumbtacks at a local King Soopers.
