Authorities fear a Denver-area man who went missing while hiking near St. Mary's Glacier may have been swept up in an avalanche.
Fifty-year-old Todd Mussleman was reported missing Saturday after he failed to return home from a hike. Capt. Rick Safe of the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office says there's a strong possibility he got caught in a fresh avalanche encountered by search teams.
Teams started looking for him Saturday evening but have not able to search the avalanche area because the snow there is still vulnerable to another slide.
No searching was done Wednesday but Safe says teams will return to do another search on Saturday.
