GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - A Grand Junction group considering security options for schools is rejecting arming teachers or volunteers.

The District 51 School Security and Safety Work Group is expected to make its recommendations on Tuesday.

According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, the idea of arming people has been discussed throughout a series of seven meetings the group has had since forming last month.

Other options being offered include panic buttons, special locks, electronic sign-in systems, scanners, more cameras, bullet-proof doors and windows, and two-way radios.
