AURORA, Colo. - A brief but powerful thunderstorm moved through Aurora, Parker and Castle Rock Saturday afternoon, leaving streets flooded, buildings surrounded with water and several inches of hail on the road.
AirTracker7 flew over Aurora, showing wide swaths covered in water and hail, including the area around the Aurora mall. Shoppers were seen wading through the knee deep water trying to get to their cars.
There were entire neighborhoods blanketed in several inches of hail, especially around the Interstate 225 and Parker area.
7NEWS viewers sent in photos showing trees down, roads covered in water, and street lanes looking like rivers.
"Colorado can't get a break from the weather," Sen. Michael Bennet said earlier in the day, during a press conference with Gov. John Hickenlooper, referring to the deadly flash floods that ravaged many parts of the state.
Aurora was hammered by rain on Thursday, causing street flooding that created extensive damage to the roads, closed schools and businesses and flooded homes.
