RTD A Line returns to full service after fatal crash

DENVER – The Train to the Plane has returned to full service following a fatal crash involving a vehicle on the tracks Tuesday morning.

The driver of a van was killed when Aurora Police say he intentionally drove his vehicle in front of the passing A Line train at the intersection of Chambers and Smith Road around 3:30 a.m. His vehicle was pushed more than 500 feet down the track. Four passengers suffered minor injuries.

RTD was using buses to transport A Line passengers through the area before the line was fully restored Wednesday morning.

Aurora Police and agents from the Federal Railroad Authority are still investigating the crash.
