Robber shoots his way into McDonald's in Frederick

FREDERICK, Colo. - Police are looking for an armed man who shot his way into a McDonald's to rob it.

Workers were inside the McDonald's at Interstate 25 and Highway 52 in Frederick at 3:45 a.m. Monday, but the restaurant was closed when a man tried to walk in and found the doors locked, police said.

Workers said the man wearing a ski mask and gloves pulled out a gun, shot the glass front door to get inside, then confronted an employee in the office.

The robber ordered the employee to open the safe. When she did, the robber grabbed the money and ran off, police said.

Officers with a K-9 searched the area, but the man got away.

Police said no one was hurt.
