WINDSOR, Colo. - The principal of Windsor Middle School has been placed on paid administrative leave after being arrested following what police said was an incident of domestic violence, according to the Fort Collins Coloradoan.
In a letter sent to parents, athletic director Eric Johnson said principal Doug Englert had been placed on paid administrative leave.
Johnson gave no details about the circumstances of Englert's departure.
Court records show Englert was arrested on Thursday suspicion of assault, cruelty toward child and harassing communication.
The Windsor Middle School website said Englert is married and has two children.
"Mr. E has been the principal at Windsor Middle School since 1994," the website said. "Before coming to WMS, he was the Assistant Principal at Fort Lupton Middle School."
