Walsenburg Stepmother charged in girl's death

DENVER - A 26-year-old Walsenburg woman has been jailed in the death of her 4-year-old stepdaughter.

The girl died Sunday night after someone called 911 to say she was in seizure.  The girl was identified Tuesday as Alani Tatiana Reyes-Cueva.

The girl's death was deemed suspicious by police and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation was called in to help police investigate.

The girl's stepmother, Marissa Jackson, was booked into Huerfano County jail Monday on one count of child abuse resulting in death.
