Fund set up for her children's education

DENVER - Services will be held this week for the Denver woman shot and killed last week while she was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher.

"Kris Kirk, 44, of Denver, died April 14, 2014. Kris is survived by her beloved sons, Ethan, Aiden, and Andrew," the online obituary states. "She is also survived by her loving family, parents Wayne and Marti Kohnke, sister Tammy Heman, and brother Marc Heman."

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 24, from 4-7 p.m. at Horan & McConaty. That is located at 1091 S. Colorado Blvd. in Denver.

The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 25, at 10 a.m. at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church at 2200 South Harrison St. in Denver.

A fund has been set up to collect donations to pay for education for the couple's three young sons. Donations can be made to the Kirk Children Education Fund in care of Marti Kohnke through US Bank.
