Rejected applicant blamed for dognapping from All Aboard Animal Rescue

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - An animal rescue group says one one of its puppies was stolen from an adoption event over the weekend.

All Aboard Animal Rescue said it was holding its Adoptapalooza event Saturday morning at Pet Club in Fort Collins when Siberia, a five-month-old Chihuahua, disappeared. The rescue group said they think Siberia was taken by an applicant who had been denied adoption.

"We have a strict application process and feel that the applicant was not able to provide adequate care for the dog, putting Siberia in potential danger," the group wrote on its Facebook page.

All Aboard said it has alerted the Fort Collins Police Department.

Siberia was taken in the middle of a large event that saw 67 puppies and dogs adopted.
