DENVER - Gas prices have fallen below $3 at some Denver-area gas stations.
However, gas prices are starting to creep back up as the holiday weekend approaches.
The Lundberg Survey of fuel prices released Sunday said after nine weeks of falling gas prices, the average U.S. price of a gallon of gasoline is up 3 cents over the past two weeks.
Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg said it's the first price hike since Sept. 6.
AAA said the average price of regular unleaded across the country is $3.28. In Denver, the average price of regular unleaded is $3.11.
