Easter Sunrise Service at Red Rocks canceled

MORRISON, Colo. - The annual sunrise Easter service at Red Rocks Amphitheatre has been canceled due to the amount of snow that fell Wednesday.

The Colorado Council of Churches said, in part:

"With heavy hearts, we're canceling the 2016 Easter Sunrise Service at Red Rocks. There’s too much snow in the amphitheatre.
"Given the current forecast for cold temperatures and more snow on Saturday, it's not going to melt away by Saturday. Therefore, it’s best for us to cancel. Please share this notice with your networks.
"Have a blessed Resurrection Sunday!"

The amphitheatre got enough snow for people to ski down the steps!
