November 2015 was the busiest November in the history of Denver International Airport.

More than 4.3 million passengers went through DIA – an 8.8 percent increase over November 2014 – making for the third record-setting month in row for the airport.

One day in particular set a record on its own. Nov. 29, 2015, is now the busiest day in airport history with 182,742 travelers served. On average, 146,500 fliers go through DIA in a day.

“Nearly all of our airline partners saw increased traffic in November, while international passenger traffic increased nearly 10 percent,” said airport CEO Kim Day. “With another record-setting month in November, along with forecasted capacity growth in December, I’m optimistic that we are on track for 2015 to be our busiest year ever.”

Airport officials haven’t finished compiling December’s numbers. If not record-breaking, one could expect big numbers from the month, when a snowstorm interrupted air traffic and holiday travelers waited hours to get through to their gates.

Holiday traffic could set a new DIA record

Year-to-date traffic is up nearly 1 percent over last year.
