For the past three weeks, Sunni Nucci has been in puppy love.

"She just had a very special personality and we just had an instant bond the minute we met," Nucci said.

That love story took a sudden twist on the morning of June 3, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

"I was only gone for two or three hours," Nucci explained.

When she came home she found someone had broken in through a back screen.  She quickly saw her house which sits at West 48th Avenue and Beach Court had been ransacked.

Her TV and family jewelry was stolen and her cute little 11-week-old Shi-itzu/Poodle mix was gone.

"I just ran and looked everywhere for her. I understand the items being taken but I just can't understand why they would take a pet," Nucci said.

Nucci said they spared her two cats although it took her about nine hours to locate one of them.

Her puppy, Bella, was wearing tags and a metallic silver collar with a bell.  She weighs about five pounds and is black with white markings on her feet, chin and chest.

She has an umbilical hernia and will need surgery.

"It's just devastating really. She just kind of changed my life, and this has changed my life again," Nucci said.

Nucci is offering a cash reward. If you have any information call: 720-206-7000.
