PUEBLO, Colo. - Officers have arrested a man they said was taking pickup trucks for test drives, then using the trucks to rob storage facilities.
Phillip Vallejos has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of burglary tools and auto theft.
"Vallejos would contact a local used car dealer and arrange to test drive a truck," Pueblo police said. "While test driving the vehicle, he would go to different rental storage facilities where he would access the property, cut off the locks securing the storage units and steal items."
Police said a number of storage units were burglarized and some of the victims may not even know it yet.
Vallejos is being held hold on a $25,000 bond.
