A proposal to introduce tolling along C-470 from Interstate 25 to Wadsworth will be the focus of a town hall meeting Tuesday night in Highlands Ranch.
Representatives from the Colorado Department of Transportation, C470 Coalition as well as the High Performance Transportation Enterprise — or HPTE — will be on hand. HPTE is part of CDOT and is charged with pursuing alternative methods of improving local transportation, including implementing toll lanes and forming public-private partnerships to manage local roads.
The meeting is scheduled from 6-to-8 p.m. at the Highlands Ranch Metro District, 62 Plaza Drive, Highlands Ranch.
Last year, C-470 officials decided to pursue tolling to widen a 12-mile stretch of C-470, which swings around the southwest side of the metro area from I-25 to Interstate 70.
Tolling was picked over other options including a sales tax or property tax increase for roads.
