JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. - A second helicopter has been requested to help fight a fire in a remote area of Jefferson County.
The Willow Bend Fire is burning on the east face of Long Scraggy Peak between South Platte and Deckers.
A level one evacuation order was sent to 119 homes in a 4-mile radius of the peak. That is equivalent to a pre-evacuation order.
"Residents close by are asked to stay alert and BE READY to leave if necessary," said a tweet from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
Currently, no structures are threatened by this fire.
The fire has burned 2 acres and is zero percent contained.
The Forest Service and North Fork Fire Department have responded to the fire, officials said.
One helicopter is already dropping water on the fire, a second helicopter has been requested, officials said.
