The estimated jackpot for tonight's Powerball drawing has jumped to $400 million or $227.8 million in cash value.
This is the largest Powerball jackpot since August 7, 2013, when 3 winning tickets split a $448.4 million grand prize, according to the Colorado Lottery. The highest Powerball jackpot ever was $590 million last May.
No one came close to winning the jackpot in Colorado on Saturday. 57 people got four numbers, but no one got five numbers, let alone five numbers plus the powerball.
Powerball is played in Colorado and 42 other states, in addition to Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of matching all six numbers in the game are 1 in about 175 million, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association.
