Surveillance camera shows person of interest

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. - Greenwood Village police are trying to identify a man who attacked a woman as she walked at night near a light rail station last weekend.

On Friday, police released a surveillance photo of a man described as a person of interest in the attack.

The assault happened about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, as the woman was walking in the 6400 block of South Yosemite Street.

As the woman approached the Yosemite Street overpass on Interstate 25, a man grabbed her from behind and attacked, causing the woman to lose consciousness, police said.

People in a nearby parking garage saw the attack and started yelling at the man, causing him to run west on the overpass, toward the Arapahoe at Village Center Station.

The surveillance photo shows the suspect wearing a black jacket, dark shorts and a baseball hat.
