DENVER – Police on Monday were searching for a suspect in an early-morning stabbing at a Denver apartment complex.

Officers responded to an apartment on Galena Way near Havana and Alameda at about 1:30 a.m. Monday.

Police said two men got into a fight and one of the men was stabbed. The victim fled the scene but firefighters found him nearby, police said. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that police did not believe to be life-threatening.

Another man at the apartment was treated at the scene for an injury he sustained when he was hit over the head with a bottle.

Police said they did not have a suspect in custody. Officers described the suspect as a black man, between 6 feet and 6 feet 5 inches tall with short hair and possibly a short beard. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information on this case should contact Denver police.
