Police arrest carjacking, robbery suspect targeting Denver, Aurora areas

AURORA, Colo. - Aurora Police say they have arrested a carjacking and robbery suspect caught on surveillance video.

On Thursday, a black 2011 Honda CRV with Colorado plate 300TZJ was carjacked at a Denver Safeway store at 26th Avenue and Federal Boulevard, according to police.

Officers said that vehicle was used in two business robberies in Aurora.

The first was on Thursday at 9 p.m. at a 7-Eleven store located at 13970 E. Quincy Ave. The second robbery was 6 a.m. Friday at the 7-Eleven store located at 7451 S. Gartrell Rd.

The Honda was also used in an attempted kidnapping in unincorporated Arapahoe County at the Bradley gas station located at 12202 E. Arapahoe Rd, police said.

Authorities said the suspect pulled up in the car as a woman was pumping gas. He claimed to have a gun and threatened the victim.

Investigators said the same suspect is seen in a store video from both 7-Eleven stores and the Bradley gas station.

On Saturday morning, police posted on their Facebook page:

"The Aurora Police Department located and stopped this vehicle on E-470 at Gartrell Road last night. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. We are not releasing the suspect's name or mugshot because detectives are still following up with victims and witnesses in this case."
