Woman shot, killed at Broomfield auto repair shop; man detained

Police: Woman shot multiple times

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - A woman was killed in a workplace shooting at a Broomfield auto shop on Friday afternoon, and a man is in custody, police said.

The Adams County bomb squad search the 100 block of Commerce Street because there was concern the suspected shooter had placed explosives the area.

Officers responded to Commerce Street about 2:30 p.m. on a report of shots being fire, police said.

Arriving officers found a 56-year-old woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at East of Sweden, a Saab repair shop at 155 Commerce St. The woman was rushed by ambulance to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Lawrence Raymond Crouch, 62,  was taken into custody without incident, police said.

A bomb squad detonated a bag suspected of concealing explosives at about 6 p.m.
