DENVER - The owner of a medical marijuana dispensary has pleaded guilty to charges that he illegally sold almost $400,000 worth of marijuana last year.
Dmitriy Genzer, who owns the Cannabis and Company on Tejon Street in Denver, was arrested after he tried to sell 200 pounds of marijuana to an undercover police officer last year.
The West Metro Drug Task Force conducted a sting operation where Genzer and two associates were to meet with a person they thought was a bulk marijuana purchaser from Pennsylvania, said Pam Russell of the First Judicial District Attorney's Office.
Genzer was supposed to meet the buyer at a hotel in Wheat Ridge. He and two associates, Joseph Alejo and Aaron Garcia, went to the hotel on Dec. 7, 2011 with 160 pounds of marijuana, Russell said.
When they presented the marijuana, officers arrested all three and seized the marijuana.
Russell said marijuana was also seized in a storage facility. All together they recovered 187 pounds of pot.
All three pleaded guilty Friday. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 7.
