COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs police are looking for a parent who apparently sprayed a group of kids with pepper spray or some other chemical irritant.
Several 13-year-olds told police they were playing at the playground at the Enfield Apartments on Illinois Avenue in Colorado Springs Sunday afternoon when one of them got into an argument with an 8-year-old on the playground.
Officers said the verbal argument escalated and the 13-year-old may have assaulted the 8-year-old boy. That boy then left.
The 13-year-olds told police that a few minutes later, a gold colored vehicle pulled up. The boys told police the female passenger yelled obscenities at them, then the male driver got out of the vehicle, chastised them for assaulting his son, and sprayed the teens with a chemical irritant, possibly pepper spray.
Medical responders were dispatched to treat the kids' injuries, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.
The driver was described as a Hispanic man in his 40s, between 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a very heavy build and a shaved head. The vehicle was described as a gold colored Toyota or Honda.
If you have any information about the vehicle or the parents involved, please contact Colorado Springs police.
