STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Authorities in Steamboat Springs say they believe they've found the body of a man who went missing in April.

The Steamboat Pilot and Today reported Thursday that the body of 38-year-old Matthew Shelters was found on the banks of Soda Creek, just north of the Colorado mountain town.

Routt County Commissioner Cari Hermacinski says she discovered the body while walking along the creek on Wednesday.

Family members reported that Shelters was last seen leaving a Steamboat Springs restaurant on foot shortly after midnight on April 24.

Police said at the time there was no evidence to indicate that a crime occurred.

County Sheriff Garrett Wiggins says an autopsy was scheduled Thursday to determine cause of death.
