2 dead in plane crash near Front Range Airport

Family ID's pilot as Aurora man

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. - Two people were killed when a plane crashed in a field just west of Front Range Airport early Saturday morning.

According to an Adams County PIO, the Cessna 150 took off from the airport at 12:30 a.m., and it was reported missing at 3:45 a.m., by family members.

Adams County Sheriff's Office confirmed they responded to a report of a plane crash and found the wreckage at about 7:30 a.m., in a field near Imboden Road, near Watkins, Colorado.

7NEWS spoke with the family of pilot Amiratpal Singh.  They said the other victim was a musician in town for a concert Saturday night at Adams City High School.

A relative of the pilot told 7NEWS he was giving airplane rides to some of the people here for the concert.

The cause of the crash will be investigated by the FAA.
