Pilot killed in fiery plane crash in western Colorado

DELTA COUNTY, Colo. - Authorities say the pilot of a small plane died in a fiery crash in western Colorado's Delta County.

According to The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, the crash was reported at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday near the Flat Tops Wilderness area. Delta County Sheriff Fred McKee says the pilot was the only person on the plane.

Officials say the plane was a Cessna 210 flying from California to Aspen. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.

The name of the pilot has not been released.
