PHOTOS: Older horse rescued from fall into feeding trough

WINDSOR, Colo. — An older horse needed a helping hoof on Thursday after falling into, and becoming trapped inside, a feeding trough on a farm.

Loveland Fire Rescue and Windsor-Severance Fire Departments responded to help out Katy, a 25-year-old mare, partially buried under the hay.

Eventually, firefighters were able to loop harnesses around the seemingly-healthy horse and hoist her out with the help of their equipment.

Katy is scheduled to see a veterinarian, but appeared to be fine.
