COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A Colorado Springs man who used the screen name "Pervymcperv" and pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography will serve 97 months in federal prison for the crime.
Kevin Shea, 43, pleaded guilty in February and was sentenced Monday. In addition to the 97 months in prison, he was sentenced to serve ten years on supervised probation, pay $7,000 in restitution and register as a sex offender.
A federal grand jury indicted Shea for the crimes in November, said Jeff Dorschner, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney in Colorado. Shea allegedly used a peer-to-peer software program to distribute 97 images of child pornography and three videos on Sept. 1 and Sept. 2, 2010.
An FBI investigation also allegedly found that Shea's computer equipment contained approximately 4,838 images of child pornography, including images of bondage and torture, and 228 videos featuring child pornography.
