Persons of interest sought in Lone Tree jewelry store robbery

Thieves used sledgehammers to access Rolex watches

LONE TREE, Colo. - Lone Tree police have released photos of two persons of interest in a robbery that occurred at a jewelry store at the Park Meadows mall last week.

Officers said three suspects entered the Ben Bridge Jewelers store at around 8:45 p.m. on July 18, and used sledgehammers to break open display cases.

The thieves got away with multiple Rolex watches, according to a news release.

Witnesses told police the suspects left the scene in a silver Jeep Liberty with Colorado license plate 793-OUD. The vehicle was then reported stolen minutes later, police spokesperson Kristen Knoll said.

The three suspects are described as black men in their early to mid-20s, who were wearing dark clothing.

A suspect from the robbery, seen in a white T-shirt in new surveillance images, and an unknown person of interest in a brown T-shirt, had been in the jewelry store a day before the robbery, police said.

Officers said the robbery suspect in the white T-shirt momentarily looked at the Rolex display cases while the man in the brown T-shirt spent a majority of the time on his phone.

When contacted by a sales associate, the suspect stated that he was looking for diamond earrings for his 8-year-old daughter. The men left the store without making a purchase.

During their time in the store, the two men appeared to be evaluating the store's layout and camera locations. The men were unsteady on their feet, moving back and forth from foot to foot, police said.
