Wheat Ridge police have identified a person of interest in connection with a stabbing that occurred earlier Thursday morning.

A woman was found stabbed multiple times near a Wheat Ridge truck stop. She had been stabbed in the face and neck outside the Howard Johnson hotel in the area of West 44th Avenue and Tabor Street, police said.

The victim came out of one of the rooms of a Travel America truck stop at around 6:59 a.m. and was immediately taken to St. Anthony's Hospital in Lakewood, according to Wheat Ridge Police Commander Wade Hammond.

Police earlier had asked for help in identifying three people in connection to the crime.

By Thursday evening, officers identified one of the persons as 43-year-old Andrew Howton, seen in the surveillance picture above. Howton was last seen leaving the Howard Johnson Hotel the same time the woman left the hotel room.

Wheat Ridge police are also concerned about the well-being of 39-year-old Christopher Sloan. Police are asking Sloan to call Wheat Ridge police or Westminster police as soon as possible.

Anyone with information about the location of Sloan or Howton is asked to call Wheat Ridge Police at 303-235-2947 or call 911.

In a possibly related incident, police are also looking for a 2007 Nissan Frontier with Colorado plates 814 PVD, that had been stolen around 7:20 a.m. The pickup has multiple stickers in the windows and scrap metal in the bed of the truck.
