DENVER - A pedestrian died after being hit by an SUV on Federal Boulevard in Denver Saturday night.
Denver police said the crash happened after 9 p.m. at the intersection of Federal and 14th Avenue. There is a stoplight at the intersection.
The victim, a man in his mid-40s, was headed east across Federal when he was struck, according to Denver police detective John White. The pedestrian was not in the crosswalk.
A witness told 7NEWS that he was riding on the bus that was at the crash scene and he heard the impact. He said he saw the SUV that hit the person pull over immediately. He said a second vehicle might have also hit the person, and that car sped off.
"But I mean this stuff happens every day," the witness, Steve Anaya, told 7NEWS. "Ever since they changed this route, it's like running the gauntlet man trying to get to your bus."
Denver police have not identified the victim.
