DENVER - A man wielding a samurai sword was shot to death and a police officer was rushed to the hospital with stab wounds in a disturbance on the Auraria Campus early Saturday morning.
7NEWS photojournalist Eric Goody has confirmed that an Auraria Campus officer confronted a man who had what appeared to be a samurai sword around 5:45 a.m. The suspect then stabbed the officer with the sword.
That's when the officer then shot and killed the suspect and called for help.
The injured officer was rushed to the hospital and is now in critical but stable condition, according to Denver police.
