ARVADA, Colo. - People donated $15.7 million to Colorado nonprofits in 24 hours on Colorado Gives Day 2012.

The Community First Foundation announced today it will distribute the money to 1,246 nonprofits that participated in the fundraising drive.

More than 69,000 donations were received as part of Colorado Gives Day, according to organizers.

“We continue to be amazed by the generosity of Coloradans,” said Marla J. Williams, president and CEO of Community First Foundation.

Processing fees were covered by Community First Foundation, FirstBank and Colorado foundations and businesses, so that 100 percent of Colorado Gives Day donations goes directly to the participating nonprofits.
