CENTENNIAL, Colo. – A woman died after she was hit by a car near Centennial Monday night.
The Colorado State Patrol said the crash occurred at the intersection of South Dayton Street and East Caley Avenue around 7:30 p.m.
Investigators said the driver of an SUV headed southbound on Dayton hit the woman as she was crossing the street at Caley. The woman was crossing in a crosswalk but the driver had the green light, investigators said.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene, according to investigators.
Troopers said southbound Dayton was closed at Caley due to the crash. It wasn’t clear how long the closure could last.
