DENVER - A bus driver was ticketed after a passenger on the RTD bus was hit by a car and seriously injured while getting off the bus Friday morning.
The auto-pedestrian accident occurred at Alameda Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in Denver around 6:15 a.m.
A witness told a 7NEWS photographer that the woman was getting off the bus when a minivan on the right hand turn lane clipped the woman.
Video from AIRTRACKER7 showed the bus stopped in a traffic lane, not at the curb, raising questions about whether the woman was let out in traffic.
Denver police said the woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. She was conscious, but screaming in pain when the ambulance came, a witness said.
Denver police say the bus driver will be cited with two traffic infractions related to the accident.
