Parking lot hit and run suspect Michael Guzman surrenders to Thornton Police

THORNTON, Colo. - Thornton police say a hit and run suspect surrendered Tuesday to face several charges.

Michael Guzman, 23, of Thornton, is accused of driving a red Chevrolet Cavalier that truck the passenger side of a Ford Ranger in a parking lot at 10003 N. Grant St. as a man was climbing in around 1:37 p.m. on Sunday. The 63-year-old man was thrown to the ground and suffered a severe head injury.

Guzman allegedly drove away with heavy damage to his Cavalier.

Upon surrendering, police say Guzman was taken into custody for vehicular assault, hit and run and careless driving. He is currently free, pending charges from the Adams County District Attorney's Office.
