DENVER – Problems with the catenary system, the cables on which RTD rail cars run, suspended all service on the RTD E, F, and H lines between the I-25 and Broadway station and the Belleview Station, and is causing delays Tuesday afternooon.

The three lines, as well as the R Line, are all being affected by the disruption.

RTD says it has maintenance crews working to identify the problem with the system, and said it had narrowed the issue down to the southeast corridor.

As of 1:30 p.m., both northbound and southbound service between the aforementioned stations had been suspended.

Buses were being brought in to shuttle passengers at the I-25 and Broadway, Louisiana-Pearl, University, Colorado, Yale, Southmoor and Belleview stations, RTD said.

It said passengers should expect “severe delays” on all E, F, and H line trains, and that R-Line passengers should expect minor delays, though that line is operating between the Lincoln and Peoria stations.

By 3 p.m., service had resumed on the E, F, and H lines, according to RTD. It said that passengers should expect delays of 10-20 minutes for the next couple of hours.
