1 dead in shooting at the Tierra Maya Sports Bar and Grill in Aurora

Police search for suspect

AURORA, Colo. -- Police were looking for the suspect who opened fire in the parking lot of the Tierra Maya Sports Bar and Grill, killing one person.

Police were called to the bar on Havana Street near East 4th Way around 7 p.m. Saturday, according to Sgt. Chris Amsler with the Aurora Police Department.

Officers found a man his 20's wounded in the parking lot. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

No one else was injured in the shooting.

Police did not have a suspect description available late Saturday night.

"At this point in time, our major crimes unit is arriving on scene. They're following up on leads to try and determine who are suspect is in this case. So that we can track them down and take him into custody," Amsler said.
