DENVER - Colorado's golden girl got to meet her pop idol at the Pepsi Center Monday night.  Missy Franklin tweeted a photo of herself with Justin Bieber backstage in Denver.

Franklin sent this tweet: "With the Biebs -- He truly is a wonderful and genuine person! Such an honor to meet him!"

Back in July, Franklin tweeted about being a Bieber fan: “@justinbieber: heard @FranklinMissy is a fan of mine. now im a fan of hers too. CONGRATS on winning GOLD! #muchlove” I just died! Thankyou!"

But Franklin had to return a gift package Bieber sent her back in August.

Bieber sent Franklin posters, autographed shirts and other items, but the gifts could have jeopardized her amateur status as a competitive swimmer.

Franklin won four gold medals and one bronze medal during the London Olympics, and plans to attend Cal Berkeley in the fall.
