Observant neighbors help Colorado Springs Police bust burglars

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Observant neighbors helped police arrest three burglars who robbed a home while the owners were on vacation.

Colorado Springs Police said they were called to the 4400 block of Melville Drive on Tuesday for a burglary in progress.

Officers said neighbors gave them video showing the suspects leaving the residence with stolen items.

"Using the video surveillance and a social media page, officers were able to obtain the identity of all three suspects," Colorado Springs Police said.

Two juvenile suspects were quickly arrested and a warrant was issued for a third juvenile suspect, police said.

On Wednesday, officers said they were called to a burglary on Payne Circle, about a half mile away.

The first officer on scene said he saw a suspect on the property run off.

The officer chased the suspect and took him into custody.

Colorado Springs Police said it was the third suspect wanted from Tuesday's burglary.

"The investigation is on-going, but the three suspects have been linked to multiple residential burglaries and burglaries of motor vehicles," police said.
