NORTHGLENN, Colo. - The Northbound Interstate 25 ramp to 120th Avenue in Northglenn was reopened firefighters checked a truck for radioactivity.
The truck was hauling recycled water pipes that may have been removed from the ground in an area contaminated with radon, North Metro Fire said. The owners of the company told the driver to pull over, get out and call 911.
About 50 minutes later, around 5 p.m., North Metro Fire announced that radon levels were safe enough to move the truck from the ramp and allow it to reopen.
North Metro Fire crews are clear from earlier #HazMat incident. CSP finishing up but no safety threat for public. #northglenn
