AURORA, Colo. - A former resident physician at CU's Medical Center has been sentenced to probation after fondling a patient.
Prosecutors say Matthew Charles Uhlenkott, 32, fondled a patient's penis while the patient was in the post-anesthia care unit after eye surgery. The victim was unable to see.
Under a plea agreement, Uhlenkott pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual contact with an at-risk adult without consent, prosecutors said. Charges of unlawful sexual contact with an at-risk adult and sexual contact with a helpless at-risk adult were dismissed.
Prosecutors said Uhlenkott was sentenced to four years of sex offender intensive supervised probation and he must register as a sex offender for 10 years.
He is no longer practicing medicine.
The victim, who is now blind, told the court that he never thought he would be a victim of a sexual assault.
