BRIGHTON, Colo. – Investigators are trying to figure out what caused an oil tank to go up in flames in Brighton Wednesday night.

The fire started in the oil separators at a tank farm south of Weld County Road 4 near Vestas at about 9 p.m. Nobody was hurt and workers evacuated the area.

Fire crews made sure all valves and oil flow into the area were shut off and then made sure the fire didn't spread to other equipment and tanks.

The burning oil was allowed to burn off and firefighters said early Thursday that the fire was out.
