A small plane crashed Friday night off County Road 205, near the Bookcliffs, in Garfield County.
The pilot was able to notify authorities that he and a passenger were uninjured.
Emergency units were dispatched just before 7:30 p.m.
The Piper Cherokee landed in about five feet of snow, according to a release from the sheriff's office. The FAA and NTSB have both been notified.
The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office secured the site until a determination can be made about a future investigation.
